Accommodation of your choice will be booked accordingly, but you are free to change your itinerary as you please.
Guests will be transported on excursions with a Bajaj Tuc-tuc, a small semi-open car that seats a driver and two passengers and has enough space left for a cooler box filled with ice cold beverages*. This is definitely the authentic way of travel and extremely popular in Dar es Salaam.
*All excursions: include 3 beverages of your choice, on the condition that the glass bottles be returned to the lodge.

These activities are definitely worthy of giving it a go!

-          Snorkel, traditional Dhow sailing trip and lunch on a deserted island
(Full day excursion – breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner, all transfers and equipment for snorkeling included)

Depart for your sailing and snorkeling trip around 9 am after breakfast, please remember to use sun block of at least SPF30, the African sun has no mercy!
Arrive the sister’s lodge and collect snorkeling equipment while staff briefs you on the planned daily schedule and safety instructions. A traditional Dhow trip to Sinda Island for snorkeling will open your eyes to the beautiful sea life of the Tanzanian Indian Ocean.
Head towards the ocean where the Dhow will be waiting ready to depart. Spend the rest of the day indulging in the feeling that you have the entire reef to yourself. Lunch and leisure time will be taken on the deserted Sinda Island. As part of the island visits, we would like to raise awareness on dynamite fishing, and the negative impact it has on our marine life and what it means for the oceans future.
Return to the resort around 4 pm where after a delicious dinner will be served.

-          Visit one of Tanzania’s Island Marine reserves
(Full day excursion – breakfast, lunch, dinner and all transfers included)

Depart for the northern side of Dar es Salaam around 8 am after breakfast, please remember to use sunblock of at least SPF30, the African sun has no mercy!
This is one of Tanzania’s Tropical Island reserves; with magnificent, crystal clear blue waters, ideal for swimming whether low or high tide, also featuring snorkeling, walking trails and boat trips.
Arrive where the boat transfer will be waiting. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach, swimming, snorkeling and walking the deserted beach. A freshly caught lunch will be served on the island. When walking on this beach you get the feeling of being the only human there, wonderfully secluded. Include the services of a local island guide and chances of spotting a coconut crab are good!
All of Tanzania’s Marine reserves are run as non-profit organizations, and proceeds generated from the ecotourism are put straight back into the project for funding of running costs, research and conservation programs. Ecotourism is therefore very important to the communities who benefit from the social services.
Return to the resort around 4pm where after a delicious dinner will be served.

-          Kigamboni village tour, local market shopping and community Center visit
(Half day excursion – breakfast, lunch, traditional snacks, dinner and all transfers included)
Breakfast will be served between 8 am and 10 am. Have the morning at the lodge at leisure; enjoy lunch where after a cultural village tour will be undertaken.
“Get a taste of local life!” Meet local Tanzanian people when visiting the Kigamboni Village and Market; it gives a person insight on how Tanzanians live their day to day life, in a country  rich in natural resources and slowly but steadily sustaining a stronger economy. Continue for a drive through the neighborhood to the Kigamboni Community Center where children from unprivileged areas are being educated by volunteers from around the world, will give new perspective on how Africans deal with their circumstances. The Centre’s activities include basic schooling from reading to math, English language classes, skills development and soccer. The Centre boasts an acrobat team that performs freelance at lodges and resorts in the area. The Centre is also involved in the conservation of mangroves, and once a year the children and members of the community go out to the mangroves to replant seedlings. Here, guests are given the opportunity to make donations towards the Centre or donate anything from old toys, books, clothes and school equipment.
On our way back to the lodge, a quick stop will be made at one of the local restaurants for a traditional snack, giving even more insight to the daily lives of the local villagers.
Arrive back at the lodge where dinner will be served at around 8 pm.

-          Visit Mwenge craft Market, the famous Tingatinga and Wonder Workshop
(Full day excursion – breakfast, packed lunch, dinner and all transfers included)

After a delicious breakfast, depart for Dar City at around 9 am. First of all, we visit the export quality Mwenge Arts and Craft market where you can watch carvers at work, and purchase anything from wood carvings, traditional cloth and jewelry, paintings, weaved baskets and accessories to name but a few.
We then precede to the Wonder Workshop a definite high-light of the day, an organization where disabled members of the community are given the opportunity to create art works from waste products such as used soda cans, paper, car parts, glass bottles, etc. Buying their artwork is a win-win situation; you support a good cause while they provide you with a truly unique form of art, nowhere else to be found in Dar es Salaam. Last, but not least, we visit the famous Tingatinga Centre, one of the best places to buy these paintings, or just watch the artists at work.
After a hard day of shopping you definitely deserve a refreshing cocktail, on the way back to South Beach, a quick detour via Karimbezi restaurant will be made, just what the “traffic” needs to calm.
Arrive back at the lodge where dinner will be served at around 8 pm.
